3MKT Network¶

The three-market (3MKT) network is a small demonstration network included with PassengerSim. It is a useful starting point for exploring demand, fares, connecting itineraries, and revenue management methods.

The network contains three directional markets:

• Boston (BOS) to Chicago (ORD).

• Chicago (ORD) to Los Angeles (LAX).

• Boston (BOS) to Los Angeles (LAX), with connections through Chicago.

Two carriers, AL1 and AL2, compete for business and leisure passengers. The compact network makes it easy to inspect the configuration and understand how local and connecting passengers share flight capacity.
